Memory-Map

With Memory-Map you can plan routes, print your own custom scale maps and download routes and waypoints from a PC to a GPS. When you've completed a route, you can upload a GPS tracklog to see the exact route taken! You can even see your route or track in 3D. Use Memory-Map on a Pocket PC and with a GPS connected you can have a "Moving Map" showing real time position, visual display bearings and your recorded track.

Memory-Map is compatible with the widest range of GPS units including the leading Garmin and Magellan brands as well as many others including Navman, Silva/Lowrance & Suunto. New advances within the software now even allow you to view GPS altitude and Heart rate profiles, as well as hill and speed profiles from your imported GPS track (where available).

5 essential benefits for planning a journey using Memory-Map

1) Plan Routes

Now you can use real colour maps on a PC or Pocket PC to help you find your way. Choose from a wide range of maps for Land, Sea, City and Air. Memory-Map is available with a range of inclusive Ordnance Survey maps or a European Road Map.

- Route Planning Click on the map to add routes and waypoints or draw a track freehand using the AutoTrackTM tool. See each leg distance, compass bearing and the total journey length.

- Digital TerrainTM Check the overall ascent and descent of your route with this interactive hill profile

- Save and share routes You can save waypoints and routes for future use, send them via email, or even put them on your web page - great for planning a group trip!

- 3D ViewTM Visualise your routes and tracks in an interactive 3D terrain model. Pan, zoom and spin the map, change the lighting to envision the hills during different times of the day or even take a flight along your chosen route or track with 3D Fly Through

- Search Facility - search for over 250,000 places, hills, mountains, rivers, lakes, farms and forests

- Index to over 2,000 Walkingworld routes - Need a suggestion for a great walk or hill scramble? Then use this index to check the details of a route including journey length and difficulty level. You can then choose to download the route straight into Memory-Map complete with GPS waypoints. (Small charge may apply).

2) Print Maps

Zoom in and print your own custom full colour route maps.

- Print to scale Print the area on-screen or at a scale of your choice.

- TextNotesTM Add detailed text to your maps in a choice of fonts - useful for creating route finding notes, recording details of hazards or highlighting areas of interest.

- Route card Print your own route card detailing your waypoints, compass bearings, distances and grid coordinates.

- Relief Shading Print maps with 3D terrain on an accurate 2D scale map. Just a glance at the map now shows all the hills and valleys, making it easy to interpret contour lines.

3) Program GPS

Essential for any GPS user, Memory-Map makes routes and waypoint programming fast, easy and accurate.

- Easy GPS Programming Save time and reduce errors by transferring the waypoints and routes from your PC directly to your GPS

- Handheld GPS Compatible with Garmin, Magellan, Suunto, Lowrance/Silva, Navman and most other popular GPS models.

- Pocket PC When you're travelling, plan routes and program your GPS from a Pocket PC.

4) Plot GPS

Connect a GPS to a Laptop or Pocket PC for an off-road SatNav system.

- Follow your route Use the pop-up navigation window to display a pointer arrow showing the direction, bearing and distance to the next waypoint.

- Real-time positioning View your current position on your chosen map. The map scrolls and records a track as you move.

- Tracklog Check your progress using the tracklog to see exactly where you've been.

- Velocity vector A visual check of where you'll be if you continue the current course and speed for a given time. Quickly assess whether your current course could lead to a potential hazard.

- Proximity Alarm Create a visual and audible warning zone. An alarm is activated should you enter the zone.

5) Performance Review

Not sure of the final route you took? Want to make additional notes or check how quickly you completed the trip? With Memory-Map, it's easy to build a history of your trips!

- Review GPS tracks Import your tracklog from a handheld GPS and overlay it on a map to check exactly where you've been.

- Trip Performance Monitor Your track-log records your time and speed at down to 1-second intervals so you can review your trip performance including average speed and time taken or check out the top speed on that descent!

- Save Favourite Tracks Save a copy of your route or track for future reference, send them via email, or even put them on your web page!

- Make notes Add new waypoints to your maps to indicate points of interest such as the best camping spots, best pubs or mark new tracks to explore.

- HotSpotsTM Create a digital journal by adding pictures, text, sound or other program files to any point on the map

Finding your way has never been so easy, so accurate and so much fun!
