Helly Hansen Base Layers
Helly Hansen base layers are made from LIFA, the brand's own stay dry fabric technology. Unlike other fabrics, such as cotton or polyester, LIFA does not absorb water, it hates water - and therefore sweat. LIFA stays dry by pushing moisture away from the skin to the outer layer. By moving perspiration away from the body, the wearer stays feeling dry and comfortable. Providing unrivalled insulation, Helly Hansen base layers act as the best 'second skin' the body can have.
For outstanding performance in the harshest of conditions and during high energy activities Helly Hansen's base layers work when worn as part of a layering system, or alone. Helly Hansen has developed a three layer system to keep sports men and women dry, warm and protected, no matter what the weather. Base layers move excess heat and moisture to an insulating thermal layer, such as a mid layer fleece, designed to harness heat and push moisture away to the protective outer layer, such as a jacket, where it is then released.
Attaining the right level of moisture management and warmth is crucial during sport. With this in mind, Helly Hansen's performance base layers are segregated into three different categories, Helly Hansen Warm, Helly Hansen Cool and Helly Hansen Dry.
Helly Hansen Warm is a thermal base layer for warmth and dryness in cold conditions. Using Lifa T3 technology on the side worn next to the skin, a hollow tube like structure based on the thermal properties of polar bear fur, it traps heat and moves excess moisture away from the skin. For added warmth and a luxurious feel the warm base layers feature super fine merino wool on the outside.
Helly Hansen Cool is a range of technical T-shirts with a sandwich construction - LIFA next to the skin to keep the user dry and quick dry polyester on the outside.
Helly Hansen Dry is a versatile base layer with exceptional moisture control for dryness in all conditions.
